The Law Firm Essed & Sohansingh was established on December 2, 1994 by Hugo Essed and Rani Sohansingh. From the outset they have dedicated themselves to have the law firm become a legal think tank with several specialized lawyers, who are reliable, proactive and who provide efficient customer services. OUR CLIENTS Our clients include individual citizens who need legal assistance, up to multinational companies in Suriname, the Caribbean, South and North America, Canada and Europe, including banks, oil companies, shipping companies, insurance syndicates and international producers of goods and services. However, the majority of our clients consists of Surinamese enterprises and natural persons who have entrusted their legal interests to our office. Through a subscription to our services they are among our many regular clients for whom our lawyers are available at any time. AFFORDABLE RATES Our firm has a yearly fixed price list based on which a fee is agreed with our clients in advance. Depending on the type of service a fixed fee or an hourly rate is charged. Clients, who subscribe to our legal services, are eligible for significant discounts.
